הישג משמעותי בהובלת ההסתדרות ואיגוד עובדי הבניין והתעשיות הנלוות - נחתם צו הרחבה בענף הבניין שממנו ייהנו כרבע מיליון עובדים.

במסגרת ההסכם שקידמה ההסתדרות עם התאחדות הקבלנים בוני הארץ ושזכה לחתימת צו ההרחבה על ידי שר העבודה יואב בן צור נקבעה רביזיה במסלולי הקידום והשכר – והדבר יחול על כל ענף הבניין. מדובר בקיצור דרמטי של קצב ההתקדמות בדרגות השכר של חלק גדול מעשרות המקצועות בענף, בדגש על קידום צרכים ושכר.

להסכם זה חשיבות מיוחדת בעת הזאת, נוכח המחסור בכוח אדם בענף הבנייה עקב המלחמה, והוא מבטיח תנאים מיטיבים, דבר שיסייע למשוך עובדים נוספים לענף, כולל ישראלים.

יו"ר ההסתדרות ארנון בר-דוד הודה לשר העבודה ואמר: "צו ההרחבה הוא בשורה משמעותית לרבבות עובדים בענף והוא יביא לשיפור ניכר בתנאי שכרם ורווחתם. מדובר בהישג חשבו שמציב סטנדרט חדש וראוי לעובדים בענף הבניין, ויהפוך אותו אטרקטיבי לעובדים חדשים".
