במסורת הידועה מזה שנים, ראש המועצה הדתית הרב עובדיה דהן עם היכנס חג הפורים התהדר בתחפושת מיוחדת ומקורית – גלימת הראשון לציון ולראשו המצנפת הידועה של הרב הראשי הספרדי בה מקבל בביתו את הבאים ביום הפורים.

בליל פורים הגיע לברך ולהתברך אצל הר' יהודה אבידן מנכ"ל המשרד לשירותי הדת, שם פגש בשר לשירותי הדת הרב מיכאל מלכיאלי אשר התעניין על העשיה הברוכה במועצה הדתית.

בדבריהם שוחחו בדברי תורה ומענינא דיומא ופצחו במעגל בשירה לכבוד הפורים, בשולחן שהיה ערוך מכל טוב, בירכו איש לרעהו בלחיים לאחר שבירכו על יין משובח.
